View evidence in a different language

Note: This feature is only available for Magnet Axiom users with Magnet Axiom Cyber, Premier or Advanced licenses.

Use Magnet Translation Module to automatically detect and translate the language of your evidence. If you encounter foreign language evidence in your investigation, quickly translate text in the Artifacts explorer to a familiar language, and immediately add more context to your case.

With an installed language pack, change the language of your evidence to one of the 43 languages below:

Install the Magnet Translation Module

  1. Close Axiom Examine.

  2. Sign in to the Support Portal.

  3. Click Magnet Axiom Cyber or Magnet Axiom.

  4. Click Software & Downloads.

  5. Under Magnet Translation Module, click Download and then accept the terms.

  6. Extract all files and follow the wizard to finish installing.

Translate evidence in the Artifacts explorer

After installing Magnet Translation Module, you can translate foreign text in the preview and detail card of your original evidence. Open your case in Axiom Examine and go to the Artifacts explorer to view and translate the detail card of your original evidence source.

  1. In the Artifacts explorer, navigate to the detail card and preview your evidence source.

  2. Right-click on the foreign text.

  3. Click Change language...

  4. In the drop-down menu, select the language of the text and the language you would like to translate to.

  5. Click Okay.

  6. Right-click the text again and click Translate.

Preview translated evidence

After selecting the language you would like to translate to, view the translated text above or below the original text displayed in the detail card and evidence preview window. Longer pieces of text or media appear translated in a pop-up window next to the original evidence.

Note: Axiom Examine does not store or export translated evidence.
